Died as a result of a tragic accident Anne Heche, 53, revealed at the beginning of the year what he regretted in his life. At the same time, he revealed who he would like to play himself.

Before his untimely death, Heche revealed on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast why he didn’t star in the 1996 romantic comedy Jerry Maguire.

According to Heche, he may have offended the director during his audition Cameron Crowe, which resulted in her not being cast as Dorothy Boyd. It went to actress Renée Zellweger, who was cast opposite actor Tom Cruise.

– I don’t understand who the woman is, because the man really doesn’t love her. I don’t understand this movie, Heche said he commented on the plot of the movie to Crowe.

– A man does not love a woman. And he hopes that she would love. No thanks, this doesn’t make sense, he continued.

Last chance

After the audition, Heche’s agent called him and asked if he was crazy. According to the agent, he should not have questioned the film and whether the plot made any sense in his opinion.

At the same time, he found out that he lost the role. In the podcast, Heche described that he, as a logical person, couldn’t act in a love movie where it doesn’t exist.

Jerry Maguire was critically acclaimed, grossed over $273 million and received five Academy Award nominations. After losing the role, Heche learned what he had done wrong.

– This is one mistake I made during my life. It’s one thing on the list of admitting to the dumbest things I’ve ever done: Tell Cameron Crowe his movie makes no sense, he admitted on Yontef’s podcast.

At the same time, he admitted that he didn’t see Tom Cruise after that, but he would have really wanted to.

Cast

In the podcast, Yontef and Heche also talked about who Heche would want to play his young self if he were made into a movie.

– I’ve already thought about it. Miley Cyrus or Kristen Bell, he answered the host of the show.

According to Heche, both young women have the ability to bring a humor like hers that does justice to her life story.

– These two share the ability to face the world as I would have wanted, felt and as I would have wanted to describe it, he described.

Heche was influenced by Cyrus when she changed from a suave Disney star to a flamboyant singer. He admired Cyrus’ courage and adaptability.

With Bell, Heche played mother and daughter in Gracie’s Choice, for which Heche received an Emmy nomination. He saw a lot of himself in Bell, which is why he named her his young self.
