For months she was preparing for this highlight-but now the Austrian biathlete suddenly has to bury her World Cup plans.

Instead of starting at the individual race over 15 kilometers in Lenzerheide, Anna Gandler had to go to the hospital. The Austrian biathlete suffers from a high fever and thus missed her next assignment at the World Cup. “Incredibly disappointed-trained on this highlight for a whole year, and now very high fever, hospital and from the World Cup dream,” wrote the 24-year-old in an Instagram story from the bedside.

Already on Monday, Gandler published a photo of a fever thermometer with a body temperature of 38.8 degrees. After her missions in the mixed relay and in the sprint, she could no longer compete in the persecution on Sunday and traveled back to her home from Switzerland.

Lea Rothschopf was nominated for them. “Thanks for the many, many news I have received, they give me strength and motivation,” wrote Gandler.
