Anky van Grunsven did not end 2024 very well. The multiple Olympic dressage champion from Erp fell from her horse on New Year’s Day. She was injured and had to be taken away by ambulance.
On New Year’s Eve she had a serious fall from a horse, Van Grunsven writes on Instagram. She was taken to hospital by ambulance. It turned out that she had broken her pelvis. “Seems like if I fall, I’ll do it right.”
Fortunately, she did not need surgery. She will have to take it easy in the near future. “Not on horseback for a while and let’s try to walk again first.” Hundreds of people responded to the rider’s message to wish her well.
