Anita Witzier is in the horror phase of TV career: ‘Painful’

Anita Witzier’s TV career is currently in a horror phase. The 60-year-old presenter has never set such lousy viewing figures on NPO 1 as now. “Painful.”

Anita Witzier never recovered from the blow of taking Memories off the air. The presenter has ended up on a side road and has not been able to find the driveway for years. After a television break of a year, she is currently on the channel with the new program Festival of Love, but that is a huge viewing failure.

Anita disappoints

The first two episodes of Anita already disappointed with 526 thousand and 639 thousand viewers, but the episodes from a week ago (372 thousand viewers) and last night (332 thousand viewers) were already very bad. With a 7 percent market share, Anita scored no less than 70 (!) percent below the last weekly average of NPO 1.

Viewing figures authority Tina Nijkamp finds it really embarrassing. “Anita Witzier scores even lower with Festival of Love than last week; with 332,000 viewers only just in the top 25, in place 23. Painfully enough, the repeat of Floortje Dessing later in the evening scores even more viewers: 483 thousand viewers.”

Linda at the top

The big winner at prime time was Linda de Mol, who is still a crowd pleaser despite all the scandals. With Miljoenenjacht she got a score of 1.2 million viewers (25 percent) on SBS 6. This game show was shown directly opposite the love program of Anita Witzier.

Three other broadcasts did better against Anita at half past eight, namely Weet Ik Veel with 857 thousand viewers (18 percent) on RTL 4, De Neven van Eus with 683 thousand viewers (14 percent) on NPO 2 and Feyenoord – Sparta with 372 thousand viewers (8 percent) on ESPN.

Alberto benefits

Alberto Stegeman is on the rise thanks to Linda. His program Undercover in the Netherlands was the big winner at half past nine with 733 thousand viewers (18 percent).

The most viewed alternatives were Humberto op Zondag with 630 thousand viewers (18 percent) on RTL 4, Nieuwsuur with 604 thousand viewers (14 percent) on NPO 2 and Nederland is Vol with 596 thousand viewers (13 percent) on NPO 1.

The NPO 3 titles Sihame (115 thousand), Ik Ga Stuk (93 thousand) and Pak De Macht (174 thousand) again scored poorly.
