Angel (18) is the youngest catering boss Leidseplein: ‘Compulsory education officer thought it was logical’

The Amsterdam Angel Stuy is eighteen years old and has been running its own pub on Leidseplein since 12 April. Not just a pub: the legendary Café Mokum, which was previously known as the Black & White Bar, and before that as the Café-famous for the iconic Rolling Stones logo with the tongue on the facade. “I was still in the diapers when my father came here,” says Angel, who can be found on the square all her life.
