Andy van der Meijde flops on two channels at the same time: ‘Danger zone’

Andy van der Meijde dreams of a shiny career in the media, but for the time being he mainly causes many zappers. He was a flop on two TV channels at once last night.

It doesn’t happen often, but since yesterday the same TV star has been deployed on two channels at the same time: Andy van der Meijde. From now on, he can be seen every Friday evening on SBS 6 in the reality series Andy & Melisa, while on Veronica he continues to analyze matches in Veronica Offside. Both programs are poorly viewed.

Double flop

Where the season premiere of Andy & Melisa managed to entertain an audience of 273 thousand viewers (5.5 percent market share) on SBS 6, Veronica Offside did not exceed 117 thousand viewers (2.4 percent). Both are lousy scores, explains Tina Nijkamp. She is a viewing figure expert and the former channel boss of SBS 6.

Tina: “Andy van der Meijde on SBS 6 beats Andy on Veronica, but the numbers are far from impressive and neither of them really participate in the 8.30 pm slot. Only 273 thousand viewers and only 8.2 percent market share in the commercial target group 20 to 54 years for the docusoap. RTL 5 scores almost as high as Bureau 040 (213 thousand).”

Danger zone

Is that the worst? No. “Worse: Veronica Offside seems to be suffering enormously from the docusoap Andy and Melissa and is now in the danger zone: only 117 thousand viewers and only 2.8 percent market share in the target group. That goes towards the figures of VTBL. So problematic: what to do?”

VTBL is the football talk show of RTL 7 that was taken off the tube at the beginning of this season due to low viewing figures. It seems that Veronica Offside will also be intervened. The Friday edition is certainly not profitable.

Holland’s Got Talent at #1

The big winner on prime time was Holland’s Got Talent with 1.2 million viewers (24 percent) on RTL 4. The top three is completed by Twee voor Twaalf with 1.1 million viewers (23 percent) on NPO 2 and Flikken Rotterdam with 1.1 million viewers (23 percent) on NPO 1.

After `Flikken, the second episode of the drama series Rampvlucht attracted 805 thousand viewers (18 percent). The first episode attracted 1.3 million viewers the day before yesterday.
