Andy Fletcher was buried in London on Monday 20 June 2022. That reports the Ultra Depeche Mode fan page on Facebook. British actress Patsy Kensit was also invited to the intimate event, which, according to a photo she posted on Instagram, apparently took place in a small church. The picture shows family and friends reverently watching as Andy Fletcher is carried in a wicker coffin decorated with flowers.

The actress wrote: “A wonderful celebration of your life Andy Fletcher. All of our hearts are broken. Grainne Fletcher, you are just the most incredible, beautiful woman ever and your wonderful children, Megan and Joe, show just how great you and Fletch are. I love you very much.”

According to another photo taken by Kensit, after the memorial service and burial, there was apparently another gathering that was held in typical Irish style. The picture shows her two sonslistening intently to some stories about Andy Fletcher.

Depeche Mode is said to have been present at the funeral as close confidants and bandmates. However, the band has yet to comment on the matter. And Fletcher’s wife, Grainne Mullan, has also remained silent publicly since her husband’s sudden death.

Andy Fletcher passed away on May 26, 2022. The cause of death is still unknown – a statement only said that the musician died of natural causes. Exactly where Andy Fletcher was buried is also a private matter. It is not yet clear whether and when fans will soon be able to say goodbye personally at the artist’s grave.

Read our obituary about the “anti-star” here, as ME author Albert Koch described Depeche Mode’s keyboard player, whom he met several times for interviews.
