Andújar and Carballés, to rooms in Marbella

The Spanish Pablo Andujarnumber 69 in the world, and Roberto Carballesin 73rd place, advanced this Wednesday to the quarterfinals of the Andalucía Open 2022, which takes place in Marbella, after beating the German Yannick Hanfmann and the Italian Federico Gaio in the second round.

The quarterfinals of the Marbella tournament will have Pablo Andújar as one of its protagonists, after the Spaniard defeated the German Hanfmann 6-4 in a competitive first set that was diluted with the resounding 6-0 of the second and final.

Roberto Carballés also got the pass in two sets, although he did not have as much dominance against his rival, the Italian Gaiusnumber 185 in the world ranking, in a match that ended 6-4 and 7-6 (4).

Andújar will meet Chun-hsin Tseng in the quarterfinalsafter the young Taiwanese player beat the Swedish Elias Ymer (6-4 and 7-5), who was the executioner of the Swiss Stan Wawrinka in the previous round.

For its part, Carballés will face the Czech Jiri Veselynumber 74 in the world and who defeated the Slovakian Norbert Gombos 6-4 and 7-6 (5).

Both meetings will be next Friday, since on Thursday the last places will be finalized to be in the quarterfinals, to which other Spaniards such as Bernabé Zapata, Carlos Taberner, Jaume Munar and Nicolás Álvarez.
