Andreas Murkudis is reducing his store portfolio.
Store 98, named after its address at Potsdamer Straße 98, will close its doors at the end of February. The Berlin concept store confirmed this to FashionUnited on Friday. After the closure of Store 98, Murkudis will focus on the main store (Store 81) and the gallery space (Store 77).
The temporary “Archive” store concept, which is currently located in Store 98, will end at the end of January. Launched in October, this concept offered ready-to-wear clothing and accessories from previous seasons, as well as furniture and objects at reduced prices. It is symbolic of the previous use of Store 98, which has regularly hosted temporary exhibitions and sales since it opened in 2018.
Despite the closure of Store 98, both exhibitions and sales will continue to be accommodated spatially. The concept of temporary exhibitions will be continued in the gallery space Store 77, also on Potsdamer Straße. Seasonal sales will take place in Store 81 at the end of each season.
