André van Duin hardly dares to give an opinion, but he does about Matthijs

In the current era, André van Duin hardly dares to give his opinion in public, but he does speak out about Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. “It’s gone on long enough now.”

Celebrities have become particularly vigilant now that we live in an era where salt is thrown at every snail. You see them a lot less on talk shows and they give far fewer talk shows than before. Even an A-star like André van Duin, who has built up quite a bit of credit with the public, says he is hesitant.

“You’re so in trouble!”

Every statement is inflated these days, says André. “People could do with being a little nicer to each other, as Eberhard van der Laan said. How hardened society has become. If you want to cross the road, you are practically the enemy for cyclists,” he says The Telegraph.

It worries André. “That short fuse of people, is that the case since corona? That scares me sometimes. You hardly dare to give an opinion or the other half of the world will fall all over you. You’ll be in such a fight.”

About Matthijs

André does dare to give his opinion about Matthijs van Nieuwkerk and his return to RTL. “I think Matthijs can return to TV, it has all gone on long enough. Of course, things happened behind the scenes at DWDD that should not have happened, but I have the feeling that he now knows that himself.”

Yet there are victims who blame Matthijs, and RTL, for not just waiting for the NPO investigation report. But André doesn’t care about that either. Maybe that’s because he sometimes explodes himself. Well, according to his boss Jan Slagter.

60th anniversary

Finally: André will have been on TV for sixty years next year. On June 24 to be precise. Is something going to happen? “What we’re going to do about it, I have no idea. Fifty was celebrated very big with a TV gala that Joop organized and next year… I’m happy that I’m still here and that everything is going so well.”

You can’t keep going, says André. “I’m also going to celebrate my seventieth anniversary.”
