André Hazes Jr. on rack AD: ‘Seems like a retired artist’

André Hazes Jr. is being put on the rack quite a bit by the AD. The newspaper has decided to analyze his poor ticket sales. “He looks like a retired artist.”

André Hazes Jr. really never expected this: he hoped that his long holiday from addiction would lead to a glorious comeback. That people were hungry to see him back on stage. But nothing is less true. Now that there’s no juice anymore, it’s not really that interesting. And that new music? It is not played anywhere.

Not even half full

To make matters worse, André cannot even fill the Ahoy once and his team has to pray and beg people to please accept free tickets. They are sold for a few euros at VakantieVeilingen, the haven for desperate artists. What’s going on? The AD looked into it.

A journalist from AD has spoken to all kinds of experts about what on earth is going on with André. Are his ticket sales really that dramatic? Yes. “It is known in the music world that this show is not running, Ahoy is not even half full at the moment,” says an insider.

Retired artist

Do you often see this with A-stars? Or is André actually no longer an A-star at all? “For an artist like André Hazes, who could easily fill the Ahoy in the past, this is exceptional. You see this happen more often, but with starting or retired artists.”

Wow, that’s intense. And now all those tickets are being ‘auctioned’ for next to nothing. And then you don’t even know whether those people will actually come, according to the insider. “The threshold for not coming if you don’t feel like it, for example, is low.”

Big loss

What a drama. Even more dramatic? The concert will cost money instead of making money, an expert concludes. “This will be a loss either way.”

What needs to be done? “I would know, I would downsize the show.”
