Joost Tavernier from Gistel in West Flanders will not soon forget last Monday evening. When he returned home from his company in Ostend, a barrier of the Gistel Bridge in Oudenburg landed on his car. Then the man was stuck while the bridge opened. “My Mercedes of 90,000 euros is barely two months old. I won’t leave it at that. It can’t go any further,” Joost tells the story.
