Davide Ancelotti will return to his father Carlo’s coaching staff at the Brazilian national football team ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

The news agency “AFP” learned this on Monday from a source at the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF). Accordingly, the 36-year-old will accompany his father again as an assistant coach in the tests against France on March 26th and against Croatia on March 31st.

It was only in June last year that Davide Ancelotti gave up his role as assistant coach of the Selecao to take up his first head coaching position at Brazilian first division club Botafogo.

However, after sixth place in December, it was over again. The junior had already supported his successful father Carlo as an assistant coach since 2016 during his stints at Bayern Munich, SSC Napoli, FC Everton and Real Madrid.

Brazil will play in Group C of the World Cup against Morocco (June 13), Haiti (June 19) and Scotland (June 24).
