NEW YORK (dpa-AFX Broker) – The US bank JPMorgan has downgraded LANXESS from “Overweight” to “Neutral” with an unchanged price target of 18 euros. “The industry blues are probably returning,” wrote Chetan Udeshi on Thursday after his analysis of the European chemical sector. The length of the Middle East war remains difficult to estimate. However, the latest data has already shown that the short-term tailwind is likely to be weaker than expected due to its distortions and is probably already leveling off. Investors should therefore not place too high a value on the second quarter, because a weak second half of the year and also 2027 will bring the industry’s structural problems back into focus: immense overcapacity and increasingly strong competition for specialty products from China and the rest of Asia./ag/men
