The gift is the offshoot of a bet. Laurent attended an event organized by Handi-Bob in the spring, an association that brings children with disabilities together with bobtails. Laurent, a big animal lover, joked: “I would like a sweater with short tail hair.”
Anne-Marie Bada from the town of Berloz, member of Handi-Bob, accepted the challenge. “I didn’t know how big the prince was, I based it on photos.” With three kilos of bobtail hair, she knitted a sweater. Yesterday Laurent came to pick him up in Berloz and he was visibly too big. But King Philippe’s brother laughed at it: “The size is perfect. I’ve lost 34 pounds and weigh only 100 pounds. I feel much better in my own skin. The sweater might just be a bit too long.”
