Yegor Sorin, 40, is a Russian ski coach. Jussi Saarinen

A Russian coach operating without accreditation at the Tour de Ski Yegor Sorin says that he was nervous about the writings of the Nordic media during the ski tour.

– They say a lot of crap about me. The media has treated me unfairly, Sorin announced.

Iltalehti asked the man to specify which things he meant.

– Things should not be handled this way, he said.

A few Russian and Belorussian athletes without a national ID and background persons are allowed to take part in the Cross-Country World Cup with an exception.

One of the criteria for the exemption is that the athlete does not support Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine and is not a member of the Red Army.

Sorin has not received the AIN status of a neutral operator.

– I don’t know why I haven’t been approved for AIN status. I asked the International Ski Federation about it, but it didn’t answer my question.

Any chance you’ll get neutral status later this season?

– I have no information about it.

What do you think is the reason that you have not received AIN status for your ski protection Saveli Korostelovin in the manner of? Do you belong or have you belonged to the Red Army? Do you support Vladimir Putin?

Sorin didn’t want to answer these questions anymore.

– I’m following the women’s competition now, he said.

Is it possible for us to continue the conversation after the competition, for example?

– I can’t say.
