Tourism entrepreneur Sampo Kaulanen was transporting his customers to Kittilä airport on Saturday when he noticed several emergency vehicles on the spot.
– Yes, it scared me that worse has happened there.
In the end, it turned out that the passenger plane and the small plane drifted into a snowbank due to the strong wind. According to the rescue service of Lapland, no one was injured in the situation.
There were about 150 people on board the passenger plane, while there were less than 10 passengers on board the small plane.
According to the entrepreneur, the weather conditions in Kittilä were very challenging. A very strong wind made it difficult to travel.
– Just the drive to the airport was tough. I had to drive really carefully, says Kaulanen.
The entrepreneur says that he is still in Kittilä because he is waiting for his next customers.
– The plane is coming from London, but it turned to Stockholm. Now we wait to see what happens to them.
