ROma, 12 Feb. (askanews) – Palazzo Bonaparte in Rome will host the exhibition “until June 2nd”Munch – The inner cry“, An extraordinary retrospective that tells the entire path of the Norwegian artist famous for” The scream “. In Rome, over one hundred masterpieces lent exceptionally by the Munch Museum of Oslo are exhibited, including “Marant’s death”, “starry night”, “girls on the bridge”, “melancholy”, “dance on the beach”, and one of the versions lithographic of “The scream”.

The exhibition is produced and organized by Arthemisia and the main partner is Third pillar foundation – international. During the presentation of the exhibition, Professor Alessandra Taccone, president of the third Pilastro Foundation, underlined that Munch’s exhibition aims to overcome the success of that on Botero, also born from the collaboration with Arthemisia. Taccone recalled how Munch was able to transfer the feelings and anxieties of man to canvas, but he was also the author of less raw and twilight works.

During his long life Edvard Munch made thousands of prints and paintingsdistinguished by the need to communicate their perceptions, their ‘inner cry’. The artist touched universal themes such as the birth, death, love and mystery of life, the instability of erotic love, the discomfort produced by physical and mental diseases and the void left by death. The exhibition is curated by Patricia G. Berman, one of the greatest scholars in the artist world, with the scientific collaboration of Costantino D’Orazio, and is created in collaboration with Museum Munch of Oslo.
