Queen Mary of Denmark and the entire Danish royal family were happy to hear about Mette-Marit’s successful operation.
Queen Mary was asked about Mette-Marit’s surgery at the University of Copenhagen and became emotional.
– I understand that the surgery went well and I am very happy to hear that, says Mary.

The Court of Norway announced that Mette-Marit got new lungs on Wednesday.
Director of the Thoracic Surgery Department at Rikshospitalet Arnt Fiane says in the announcement that everything went well. According to Fiane, Mette-Marit will be in the hospital for several more weeks, which is typical after an organ transplant.
Mette-Marit suffers from pulmonary fibrosis. At the beginning of June, Mette-Marit was placed in the lung transplant queue.
