Lappeenranta’s SaiPa picked up their second victory in the SM league quarter-final series against Pori Ässi with a score of 4–1 on Friday night.
The home crowd got a full stomach when SaiPa sailed to a clear victory Santeri Airola, Eero Klintrupin, Henri Nikkanen and by Maxime Fortier with hits. Aces took care of the only child Valtteri Lipiainen right at the end of the match, when the visitors got some cosmetic consolation on the scoreboard.
According to the SM league, a total of 4,820 pairs of eyes were watching in Kisapuisto, of which at least one pair particularly caught the eye.
In messaging service X, the user Jussi Viljakainen reports on his observation, which is out of everyone’s league.
– Who liked Mythbusters? Quite a fanboy moment. It wasn’t the teachers’ fault, but I’ve learned more about physics from this man than I did in high school, Viljakainen wrote.
The “physics teacher” in question was an American TV personality Jamie Hynemanknown for the Mythbusters show. However, Hyneman was not only in Lappeenranta after the puck, but there is a stronger local connection in the background.
He works as an honorary doctorate at Lappeenranta University of Technology and has also been working life professor at the university since November 2021. Pesti will continue on a temporary basis until November 2026.
Hyneman is an inventor and special effects expert. He was the second host of the science popularizing Mythbusters. The program was made from 2003 until 2016.
