Cristiano Ronaldo’s family has spent a peaceful Christmas in Lapland with skiing, open water swimming and campfire grilling. They have also watched reindeer and visited Santa’s workshop.
One activity, however, is not a football star but a British newspaper The Daily Mail got to try it out in Finland.
The newspaper writes that Ronaldo was banned from skiing.
According to the Daily Mail, the ban is probably due to contractual reasons. Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr may have banned their star player from dangerous sports in his spare time.
If Ronaldo were to get injured on the skiing slope, it would be a huge blow to Al-Nassr both in terms of game and marketing.
A Portuguese family is said to have tested skiing without their father.
The Saudi Arabian league season is currently on Christmas break. Ronaldo is tied for second place with Karim Benzema in the league’s goal exchange. Both have been hit ten times. Aleksandar Mitrovic, who leads the goal exchange, has 12 hits.
