The 41-year-old Chestnut eaten 70.5 hot dogs within ten minutes, encouraged by thousands of spectators in the Coney Island district of Brooklyn. That was not a record: in 2021 the same Chestnut had worked 76 sandwiches with sausage in, almost eight per minute.

The winner is a legend in the world of hot dog food. Since 2016 he has won every competition in Cuey Island. Only last year was he not there, due to a sponsor conflict. Then the American Patrick Bertoletti won, but he finished in second place this year with 46.5 hot dogs.

Among the women, the American Miki Sudo extended its title. She ate 33 hot dogs, significantly less than with her record performance last year (51). Sudo was the favorite: she won every edition since 2014. Except in 2021, when she was pregnant and skipped the food game.
