The German football professional Dominik Eberle has been fired from the Detroit Lions and is looking for a job in the NFL again.

The team announced their split on Tuesday, two days after their ill-fated debut in the Lions’ 45-48 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Eberle had converted a field goal over 49 yards, but also awarded two extra points.

Only one month in the team

The Lions, where the German-American Amon-Ra St. Brown also plays, signed the 26-year-old for their training squad just under a month ago. Due to an injury to regular kicker Austin Seibert, he was used on Sunday, but was unable to convince the coaches.

Before his engagement in Detroit, Eberle was already under contract with the Green Bay Packers, the Las Vegas Raiders, the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texans. He also played an NFL game for the Texans.
