“We are excited to start the new year with the opening of our Centurion Lounge at San Francisco International Airport,” said Pablo Rivero, vice president and general manager, Global Lounge Experiences. “With outstanding menus, wines, and Northern California-inspired art, the Lounge Card offers members a place to recharge their batteries so they can travel refreshed.”

The Centurion Lounge at SFO now offers even more space for eligible Card members and now features two wine bars and cafe areas, additional restrooms, private phone rooms, multiple private work areas and more. The lounge is located in Terminal 3 on the mezzanine level.

CRY OUT REGIONAL CULTIVATION1

At a new lounge bar, guests can enjoy flights of four regional specialty wines curated by renowned wine expert Anthony Giglio. The new bar complements the existing wine wall, where guests can sample wines from across California. The wine flights will change every season and start today with a Sonoma Chardonnay flight and a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon flight:

Sonoma Chardonnay Flight

  • Gundlach Bundschu Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2020
  • Head High Sonoma County Chardonnay 2021
  • Sonoma Cutrer Les Pierres Sonoma Valley Chardonnay 2019
  • Walt Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2019

“With San Francisco enjoying a worldwide reputation for its world-class wines, the San Francisco International Airport Centurion Lounge’s wine list is dedicated to locally grown California grapes,” said Anthony Giglio, Centurion Lounge’s sommelier and wine director. “It’s fantastic to be able to showcase two of America’s most famous and established wine regions: Sonoma and Napa Valley on our first Wine Flight experience.”

FOOD AND DESIGN FOR THE HIGHEST DEMANDS

The lounge features a new seasonal menu featuring Bay Area produce curated by Liholiho Yacht Club Executive Chef Ravi Kapur. The Hawaiian native and James Beard Award nominee chef will continue to showcase his unique flair at SFO’s Centurion Lounge with menus inspired by his roots and family memories, including Kochujang Marinated Chicken Thighs, Wild Rice Coconut Soup and baby carrots glazed with black vinegar and honey.

Consumers value the opportunity to dine at airport lounges. According to a recent Amex Trendex* survey, the majority of respondents (64%) prefer airport lounges to offer quality food and beverages.

The lounge will feature two bespoke floor-to-ceiling wall coverings by abstract artist Tracie Cheng. The new design of the space references the region’s vineyards, landscape and signature San Francisco fog to provide guests with a sense of relaxation.

UNIQUE WORLDWIDE ACCESS

With more lounge options than any other credit card issuer on the market and the only credit card issuer with its own lounge at SFO, the American Express Global Lounge Collection™ is just one of the many offerings American Express offers to support its card members in their travels. American Express continues to expand the Centurion lounge network with new locations and the expansion of existing lounges. American Express plans to open new lounges at Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Washington, DC and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport (ATL) in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
