An ambulance that was urgently on its way to a report in Boxtel collided with a car on Monday evening. This happened on the Schijndelsedijk (N618), near the Oude Boomgaard. The road is closed in both directions.
The ambulance drove with its flashing lights and siren on and had already overtaken several cars when things went wrong. A car driving in front of the ambulance wanted to turn left, but both drivers probably overlooked each other. The ambulance therefore collided with the car.
Everyone involved was checked in the ambulance. No one had to go to the hospital. Both vehicles were damaged.
Another ambulance was called for the call that prompted the ambulance. The road is closed in both directions for investigation. Traffic is being diverted around the scene of the accident.
