Amazon founder Jeff Bezos: What really matters in the job

With Amazon, Jeff Bezos founded one of the largest and most important companies in the world. Of course, the online trading giant also flushes a lot of money into the pockets of its founder. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos is the second richest person in the world with assets of currently $173 billion (as of April 22, 2022), and the divorce from his wife McKenzie Bezos did not change that.

We all know that money is of course important to live, to achieve goals and to be able to fulfill wishes. But the job isn’t just about the pay. Jeff Bezos knows that too. At the “Forum on Leadership”, the multi-billionaire once revealed that he advises his employees, interns and even his children never to take a job purely for the money. Much more important is the enthusiasm for something. You should turn your passion into a job. Because even a well-paid job will not make you happy in the long run if you don’t enjoy doing it.

While online trading with Amazon has brought him fame and a lot of money, Bezos has always found his aerospace company Blue Origin to be his passion and calling. Even as a child, he was fascinated by space and the journey to get there, so it became his goal to push development so far that mankind could one day colonize other planets.
