Amateurs cross paths with professionals at Dutch Open Darts in Assen

The darts spectacle, the Dutch Open Darts, has started again. Thousands of darts enthusiasts, both amateurs and professionals, will be throwing arrows again this weekend in the Bonte Wever in Assen. The pairs tournament for men and women started today.

Wim Beverdam and Maarten Bijl, two fanatical amateurs from Emmen, have to compete against two top darts players, Jelle Klaasen and Chris Landman, in the first round.

The inhabitants of Emmen suffer from some light healthy tension. “We have to compete against top players. We’ll see what happens,” says Bijl.
