For the first time, all 21 regional associations of the German Football Association (DFB) will be there with their cup finals on the same day. After the final days had to take place without or only with a limited number of spectators in the stadiums in the past two years due to the pandemic, the fans are returning nationwide this year and are preparing a big stage for the participating teams.
Three conferences, four kick-off times
The broadcast in the first and online on sportschau.de begins at 12:05 p.m. and is divided into three sub-conferences with four kick-off times.
The first six matches will kick off at 12:15 p.m. The second live conference starts at 2:15 p.m. with seven more games. The remaining eight state cup finals start at 4.15 p.m. and 4.40 p.m.
The latest kick-off time is reserved for the national associations, who will play their final without extra time and go straight to penalties in the event of a tie after 90 minutes. The broadcast of the final day of the amateurs ends at 6.55 p.m. after almost seven hours of live football.

Peter Frymuth, DFB Vice President Match Operations and Football Development, says: “The final day of the amateurs is the TV highlight in amateur football. With the return of the fans, we can expect not only thrilling games, but also atmospheric stadiums. In its seventh edition, the successful project will once again illustrate nationwide the attractiveness and radiance of football below the Bundesliga runs out.”
ARD sports coordinator Axel Balkausky says: “We are proud to be offering amateur football in Germany the big stage it deserves for the seventh year in a row with the final day of the amateurs.
The winners of the state cup finals qualify for the first main round of the 2022/2023 DFB Cup, in which they meet a club from the Bundesliga or Bundesliga 2. In Saxony-Anhalt, the finalist FC Unity Wernigerode has been confirmed as a participant in the DFB Cup, since opponents in the final 1. FC Magdeburg have already secured their starting place.
