She won precious metal at the games in Paris, but now Alysha Newman will not be able to compete for a long time. Reason: Multiple offenses by the Canadian.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), the athletics integrity authority, has suspended Canadian pole vaulter Alysha Newman for 20 months. Newman had violated the reporting requirement for anti-doping controls three times within twelve months. The ban applies retroactively from December 3, 2025.
The AIU said all 31-year-old results from August 23, 2025 would be cancelled. Newman was temporarily suspended on February 3rd. She last took part in a competition around a year ago at the Diamond League meeting in Rabat. Newman won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Paris.
