Alpine skiing | Next Italian ski descent after Colturi shock

The Italian winter sports association FISI recently had to accept the departure of Lara Colturi. Now the next racer has decided to change nations.

The change of the 15-year-old top talent Lara Colturi was a big shock for Italian skiing. The daughter of Italian Olympic champion Daniela Ceccarelli and alpine skier Alessandro Colturi decided to switch to the Albanian Winter Sports Association.

According to “sportnew.bz”, the highly talented Colturi wants to use the freedom there to exploit their potential even more specifically.

The change was a hard setback for FISI, now the next departure is announced. Like the portal”neveitalia” reports that the skier Luisa Bertani is said to be turning her back on the Italian winter sports association. The 25-year-old is said to have decided to start for Bulgaria in the future.

In contrast to Colturi, however, Bertani’s decision should not make such waves. The Milan-born is also switching to the Bulgarian association because she once again failed to make it into the Italian squad. The FISI is said to have already agreed to the planned change and given its consent.

Alpine skiing: Bertani wants to develop further in Bulgaria

Bertani has competed in 13 World Cup races so far and was last in action in January 2021. A year earlier she scored her first and only points in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. At that time she was 24th.

Last season she was mainly in action in the European Cup. There she regularly drove into the top 20.

The move to Bulgaria should give her career new impetus so that she can constantly advance her development. This would not have been possible in Italy’s squad.
