Alpine skiing live: Val d’Isere Super G (women) in the live ticker | 12/17/2023 11:00 am

12:01

Priska Nufer (SUI)

Priska Nufer doesn’t need to hide in the upper part either, but she does have to let up a bit. Time can’t take her any further and she loses more and more. It takes over four seconds to reach the finish.

11:59

Ariane Rädler (AUT)

Rädler keeps up well with the riders in front, but then doesn’t quite reach the necessary speed. She crossed the finish line in 16th place with over three seconds.

11:57

Karen Smadja Clement (FRA)

The race gets off to a good start for the Frenchwoman. But she keeps collecting backlog. Her speed isn’t bad at all, but her driving style and line also cause her to lag behind a lot. Shortly before the end, the Frenchwoman also said: Did not finish.

11:55

Nadine Fest (AUT)

For Nadine Fest the race is over even quicker! The Austrian also has to end her race after just a few goals. How bitter!

11:53

Valerie Grenier (CAN)

The Canadian, on the other hand, kept up well until shortly before the finish, but then was eliminated.

11:50

Christina Ager (AUT)

The Austrian gets along well at the top and stays close to the good riders. She doesn’t have the last bit of aggression and has to fight for a goal. But she ends up at the bottom and initially ends up in 14th place.

11:49

Isabella Wright (USA)

Wright does a pretty spectacular jump, but is also able to land both skis. She is also pushed out of the line and can save it the first two times, but the third time the goal is too far away. She also has to finish the race.

11:47

Ester Ledecka (CZE)

She has barely started her run when she has to slow down again. After a small hit, she realizes that she can no longer reach the next gate and has to end the race very early.

11:45

Juliana Suter (SUI)

Suter doesn’t get along well at the top and has to put up with a lot of deficit early on. There are no major mistakes to be seen as the race progresses, but the driving style and speed are far from enough to be able to keep up. That’s over four seconds for them.

11:43

Laura Gauche (FRA)

Gauche is not doing badly. If she continues like this, she could attack the top ten. But she also has to struggle with the slope and goes past the gate after the last jump! She’s out of it too.

11:41

Jasmine Flury (SUI)

Flury is pushed very high at the top and has to fight for the goal. Even after that, she has to keep slowing down and working hard to stay on course. Of course, all of this takes time and leaves her shaking her head.

11:39

Romane Miradoli (FRA)

The Frenchwoman doesn’t really get along well here. She tends to wait and see and is often pushed away from the ideal line. They were initially three seconds behind and landed in last place.

11:38

Joana Hählen (SUI)

Hählen, on the other hand, really has problems staying on course here. She does everything she can to gain time, but in doing so she creates even more uncertainty. She’s not coping well today and has to keep pushing back. It’s not enough to get to the front, but she doesn’t seem to be entirely dissatisfied with sixth place.

11:36

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR)

The Norwegian takes things quickly and even attacks Brignone’s time. Can she maintain her lead? She has very small insecurities, but still drives really strong! You can certainly understand the celebration of the current second place!

11:33

Ragnhild Mowinckel (NOR)

Mowinckel also drives close to the goals, but continually collects the deficit. She’s actually having a solid race here, but isn’t getting up to the speed she needs here. She also ranks way back. It is becoming increasingly clear what the two runs by Aicher and Weidle were worth here.

11:30

Sofia Goggia (ITA)

This is of course the pass for Goggia! She also approaches the course aggressively and has to work to hold the line. At the halfway point she was almost half a second behind, but got through at the Shiffrin goal. At the finish she stays behind Goggia and is really exhausted after the run.

11:28

Mikaela Shiffrin (USA)

Can Shiffrin bring about a change in leadership? In the upper part it doesn’t look like it at first. Like her predecessors, she has a few technical problems and then even drives past the same gate as Robinson! The gate is behind a small wave and that seems treacherous.

11:26

Corinne Suter (SUI)

Suter is moving smoothly, but despite everything he has to fight a bit and still loses a lot of time. It’s almost a second halfway through the course. Even as the game progresses, Suter can’t really improve and doesn’t manage to shorten the gap. Seventh place for now.

11:23

Mirjam Puchner (AUT)

The Austrian is doing quite well, but doesn’t have the speed she needs. Puchner seems to lose time, especially in the corners, and simply can’t reach the optimal speed. At the finish she has to finish seventh behind the two Germans.

11:21

Michelle Gisin (SUI)

Gisin has to work hard and keeps getting hit. She gets through to the top, but is a lot behind. On the way to the finish she becomes faster again, but can only finish in third place.

11:19

Marta Bassino (ITA)

The next Italian doesn’t get far despite having really good style. After just a few goals, her outside ski gets lost and she has to work to avoid falling. But she drives past the gate. The course here is really selective.

11:17

Federica Brignone (ITA)

Brignone also gets along well at the top and sticks with it for the time being. She can play to her strengths well on the tough stretch and continues to make more time. Brignone acknowledges the clear lead at the finish with a loud scream.

11:15

Cornelia Hütter (AUT)

Can the Austrian replace Pirovano, who is still leading? It’s fast on the move, but doesn’t impress with its beauty. But it doesn’t matter, because the fastest one wins. And that’s exactly what she is now, crossing the finish line with a lead of almost a second. This strong run will now challenge the competition.

11:12

Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI)

As almost always, Gut-Behrami is going strong, but can’t break away from the Italian yet. But in the middle part it really hits the tube. But that doesn’t help her, because Gut-Behrami also drives past a gate and is out!

11:10

Alice Robinson (NZL)

Robinson starts pretty quickly and gets over the first crest very strongly. Robinson drives a decent line and also has an aggressive body tension. But then she drives past a gate in the middle of the course and has to swing away. This looked very much like an inspection error.

11:08

Emma Aicher (GER)

And it continues straight away with Emma Aicher. After the first transition, she can just about prevent a fall. Of course, this takes a lot of time. But she’s really doing well and making up time again. The run really wasn’t bad, but it still wasn’t enough to get to the front. It’s a shame that mistake happened up there!

11:06

Ilka Stuhec (SLO)

The Slovenian doesn’t get off any better than Weidle and really has problems. The second split time is almost two seconds. She doesn’t seem completely detached either and remains well behind the first two.

11:04

Kira Weidle (GER)

With number two, Weidle could no longer watch the Italian and was on her own. She doesn’t get off so well after the start and is initially a bit behind. Weidle isn’t really offensive here. As she goes down she gets a little faster, shoots towards the goal and stays just behind Pirovano. Even today, Weidle is not satisfied with her run.

11:02

Laura Pirovano (ITA)

The race is on and Laura Priovano is on the way. The Italian has small problems right at the top of the first crossing, but she is driving quite sensibly. Further down she gets a few hits and has to cross briefly. She crosses the finish line after 1:23 minutes.

10:53

The favorite circle

We have already mentioned Lara Gut-Behrami and Cornelia Hütter. But a really big favorite is still missing. With Sofia Goggia, the Italians have a very hot iron in the fire. But Federica Brignone and Mikaela Shiffrin can also always move to the front.

10:49

Switzerland with high hopes

We have already seen that the Swiss are doing well this weekend. After Flury and Hählen’s double victory yesterday, Lara Gut-Behrami should be ready for a place at the top again today. But Corinne Suter is also always good for a top ten placement.

10:44

Austria with a chance of a podium

Cornelia Hütter will be the first of the 13 Austrians to take to the Val d’Isere slopes with number seven. Third place yesterday in the downhill will certainly give her momentum. In her current form, she can do anything anyway. Mirjam Puchner (11) also has a good chance of placing high up.

10:42

Three German starters

With Kira Weidle (2) and Emma Aicher (4), two of the three Germans start right at the beginning of the race. After her solid downhill race yesterday, Weidle will also want to attack the top places in the Super G today. Emma Aicher was unable to finish the only Super G this season so far. However, the twenty-year-old has already shown that she can also be good for surprises. So she really has it all today. For Katrin Hirtl-Stanggassinger, the main thing will be to get as close to the points as possible. However, she has only managed this twice in this discipline so far.

10:34

Welcome

Welcome to the Women’s Super G in Val d’Isere. 58 starters will take to the slopes and want to create a lot of excitement. It should start at 11:00 a.m.
