Alpine skiing live ticker: Crans Montana descent in the live ticker

11:01

Stephanie Venier (AUT)

Things are going quite well for Venier at the top, but then she makes a big, big mistake. She falls behind and has to fight to stay between the goals. It is of course clear that, with a gap of over two seconds, that wasn’t enough to move forward. A pity.

10:58

Cornelia Hütter (AUT)

Hütter makes a similar mistake to Flury at the top and is carried further out. This goes on and on. Although she certainly doesn’t drive badly and gets over the finish line well, she loses a lot of time, especially in the last two intermediate times, and initially ends up in ninth place.

10:56

Federica Brignone (ITA)

Can Brignone emulate her compatriot? At first it looks like this! She’s close to Bassino. The line fits and so does the body language. In the last few goals she loses again insignificantly and can rightly celebrate second place!

10:54

Jasmine Flury (SUI)

Flury is already slightly removed from the ideal line at the top. Although she takes the sliding piece harmoniously, her gap becomes larger and larger. She seems a bit too reserved and doesn’t reach the pace she actually needs. Twelfth place is initially the end of the field.

10:52

Ragnhild Mowinckel (NOR)

Mowinckel is there! Times are good and she is taking things offensively. It loses a little in the gliding section, but still moves out a little in the lower part. Unfortunately, fourth place means nothing to the podium.

10:50

Mirjam Puchner (AUT)

Puchner can’t cope at the top and loses a lot of time early on. They can’t really get any closer to their gliding skills either. She is a bit hesitant and tends to slip on some corners. Only Kira Weidle is behind her in ninth place.

10:48

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR)

Lie is about six tenths behind, but can hold on. She can hold the line, but loses a little too much time. She is initially fourth, almost one and a half seconds behind. These are clear time gaps today.

10:46

Ilka Stuhec (SLO)

Compared to Gut-Behrami, the Slovenian is much less confident and fights for line, style and time. A second and a half behind puts her in the slide and makes two more mistakes at the bottom. It’s a shame, because it means she gets a better ranking.

10:44

Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI)

The absolute favorite is on the slopes! Although she is a little behind in the upper part, her body language is fully on the attack. After the gliding section, the Swiss woman is clearly behind, which she can no longer make up for in the lower part. It’s over a second and second place at the finish and Marta Bassino’s jaw drops!

10:42

Kira Weidle (GER)

Can Weidle do it better today than yesterday? She also has slipping phases in the beginning of her swing and is over a second behind early on. Weidle doesn’t seem completely convinced either. Although she was able to catch up a bit in the second third, she didn’t really make it any further forward and was complaining about sixth place at the finish.

10:39

Ariane Rädler (AUT)

The first Austrian finds a good line and stays on track in the turns. It doesn’t quite match Bassino’s time, but it does well. She especially likes the gliding section, but despite everything she loses and remains a good second behind the Italian.

10:38

Jacqueline Wiles (USA)

At Wiles, on the other hand, the snow accumulates significantly more in the curves. She’s also a little slower and can’t really use her gliding abilities. After two missed attempts at momentum, this will initially be third place.

10:36

Marta Bassino (ITA)

Bassino shows a strong performance in the upper part. She stays on the move and can take the goals appropriately. This increases her lead and goes into the gliding passage with a buffer. And she also gets everything out of the lower gates and finishes in 1:80 seconds. This has to be topped here now.

10:34

Nicol Delago (ITA)

Delago starts well, but then has a little more problems with the line than Gauche. As a result, she falls behind a bit and can’t make up anything in the gliding section despite the higher speed. In the last few goals, however, she came close again, but it wasn’t enough to get to the top.

10:32

Laura Gauche (FRA)

And Laura Gauche is the first athlete on the track. First of all, she finds good lines and also has decent speed. Overall, the Frenchwoman got through cleanly and reached the finish after 1:28 minutes. But she doesn’t seem to be completely satisfied herself.

10:23

The favorites

Today we again see a list of favorites without Goggia and Shiffrin. This naturally increases the number of contenders for victory. Lara Gut-Behrami, who was already convincing yesterday, is likely to be at the forefront. But Stephanie Venier, Cornelia Hütter and Jasmine Flury also have what it takes to be the fastest on the slopes in Valais. It will definitely be an exciting race again.

10:17

Switzerland on the rise

The Swiss women should be in a good mood in the starting area today, as things went very well yesterday. Today Lara Gut-Behrami will start the fight for her second victory this weekend with the number seven. But Jasmine Flury (12) also wants to attack again. It will also be interesting to see whether Priska Nufer can put together such a strong run in the snow again. Because then the top ten is absolutely possible for them again.
Michelle Gisin (18), Delia Durrer (21), Stephanie Jenal (23), Noemie Kolly (37) and Jasmina Suter (39) are also on the road for Switzerland.

10:11

What’s going on for the Austrians today?

Twelve of the 47 starters wear the Austrian racing suit. Ariane Rädler will take to the slopes in number five and should approach the race confidently. After all, she was able to finish eighth yesterday and also had a lot to offer in training. Cornelia Hütter should also be hungry for more after second place yesterday. Directly behind her is Stephanie Venier, who also has what it takes to achieve a very good placing.
Mirjam Puchner (10), Christina Ager (16), Christine Scheyer (22), Nadine Fest (32), Emily Schöpf (33), Sabrina Maier (35), Lena Wechner (36), Anna Schilcher ( 45) and Ricarda Haaser (47) at the start.

10:03

Can the DSV team improve?

The three usual suspects will be at the start for the DSV for the second descent in Crans Montana. Kira Weidle (6), Emma Aicher (30) and Katrin Hirtl-Stanggassinger (43) want to fight for the best possible placements in Switzerland again. Weidle will probably be hoping to make amends after his somewhat disappointing 22nd place yesterday. Emma Aicher’s goal should be to get back into the points and finish as high up there as possible. The same applies to Hirtl-Stanggassinger, who clearly missed the points yesterday. Since she hasn’t really been able to crack the slopes in the past few days, it will probably be difficult today too.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the departure of the women from Crans Montana! The live ticker begins in time before the start of the race.
