Alpine skiing live ticker: Cortina d’Ampezzo Super G in the live ticker

11:29

Stephanie Jenal (SUI)

For Stephanie Jenal it is of course a twice as difficult task after such a fall. At least it didn’t come about because of the piste conditions, but rather because of a driving error. Unfortunately, Jenal feels the same way now and after a mistake she slips away and into the safety net. Fortunately, she quickly gave the all-clear. Jenal is freed and can drive to the target area independently.

11:23

Grenier is transported away

Unfortunately, the rescue helicopter has to be used again on the third day of the races in Cortina. Grenier has to be transported away after her serious fall. Let’s hope the best for the Canadian!

11:18

Race interrupted

After the serious crash, the race is still interrupted. Valérie Grenier continues to receive treatment.

11:12

Valérie Grenier (CAN)

Valerie Grenier

Unfortunately, there is another violent fall to complain about. Valérie Grenier pulls it out after a top ride on the last wave after approaching it too directly. Grenier remains lying down and is treated.

11:09

Alice Robinson (NZL)

Alice Robinson

Alice Robinson is definitely one of the athletes that Gut-Behrami still needs to pay attention to today. Robinson approaches things aggressively, tries to find a good line, but can no longer put pressure on the podium. She finishes solidly eighth.

11:07

Laura Gauche (FRA)

Laura Gauche

After a break after the fall, it’s now Laura Gauche’s turn. Yesterday she narrowly missed the podium in the downhill. She finds it more difficult in the Super G and is already a long way behind the leaders after the first few goals, even if the overall journey is clean. After a very cautious run, she finished in tenth place, 1.34 seconds behind.

11:04

Roberta Melesi (ITA)

Roberta Melesi

It’s not Roberta Melesi’s weekend. The Italian was already one of the victims on Friday and had therefore skipped the race yesterday and unfortunately she was hit hard again today and rushed through the gate. Melesi remains lying on the fence for a while, but then gets up again and can drive to the finish.

11:01

Romane Miradoli (FRA)

Novels Miradoli

Romane Miradoli has already finished in the top ten in the Super G this winter, and there could be more to come today! The Frenchwoman puts on a lot of pressure again, drives particularly hard in the upper part and also sticks with it in the middle part. Miradoli arrives at the finish line just 0.41 seconds behind and moves into third place. The smile at the finish line is correspondingly wide.

10:58

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR)

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie causes the competition’s first fall! The Norwegian was too risky and then slipped in the middle section. Luckily nothing seems to have happened to her and she quickly gets up again.

10:55

Cornelia Hütter (AUT)

Cornelia Hütter

The next Austrian is with Cornelia Hütter. What is possible for you today? It’s Hütter’s turn at the top, but then she seems to lose her line and struggles more. Hütter falls behind and is finally eliminated shortly before the finish when she drives past the gate.

10:53

Ragnhild Mowinckel (NOR)

Ragnhild Mowinckel

Ragnhild Mowinckel won the Super G last year and triumphed in the downhill yesterday. Results that should give you confidence for today’s task. And they do! Mowinckel is doing really well at the top and takes the lead. How does it fit together from the middle section onwards? She finds it more difficult there, loses a bit of position over the skis and, after finishing third, now has to wait and see whether she will be on the podium again today.

10:51

Mirjam Puchner (AUT)

Mirjam Puchner

At the last Super G, Mirjam Puchner ended up in third place. Can she fight for the podium again today? At the top she is really strong and is able to get a small lead, but then the mistake comes and she completely loses her rhythm. More and more mistakes creep in and instead of a place in the top 3, we end up fifth in the interim rankings with 1.10 seconds.

10:49

Stephanie Venier (AUT)

Stephanie Venier

Can Stephanie Venier take the self-confidence from Friday’s descent and attack again today? She starts cheekily and tackles the goals directly and technically cleanly. She stays very close to Gut-Behrami and hardly allows herself any weaknesses. Venier is rewarded with a good second place and is only 21 hundredths behind the leader.

10:47

Jasmine Flury (SUI)

Jasmine Flury

Jasmine Flury is the next Swiss woman to try the piste, but she too has to work quickly and finds herself a huge gap to her teammate early on after the line is very wide. Flury has no chance and ends up in last position, 1.39 seconds behind.

10:45

Marta Bassino (ITA)

Marta Bassino

Marta Bassino is the next Italian to attack. She is cheeky and aggressive in the upper part and can get so close to the peak time, but after that she also drops mercilessly. Bassino can’t break the best time either and is in a good third place.

10:44

Federica Brignone (ITA)

Federica Brignone

The Swiss woman’s next competitor, Federica Brignone, is already on the move. How does it stack up in direct comparison? A huge mistake at the top spoiled her run early on and she was already half a second shy of the top time. After that, things didn’t quite suit the fast Italian. After 1.30 seconds behind, the frustration in the finish area is great. Of course, that’s not how she imagined it would be today!

10:41

Sofia Goggia (ITA)

Sofia Goggia

Sofia Goggia is set to become the next starter. Like Gut-Behrami, she gets in really well, but then runs into several difficulties in the middle section and often has to slow down so that her direct line can still be achieved. Goggia cannot climb to the top and ends up in second place, 58 hundredths behind.

10:40

Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI)

Lara Gut-Behrami

Now we could see what is really possible here. Lara Gut-Behrami jumps out of the starting gate and has already celebrated many successes on this slope. It gets tight at the top, but after that the Swiss can make full use of her clean technique and, especially in the middle section, she builds enormously on the previous athletes! She made a mistake in the final jump, but she still took a clear lead with a lead of 1.33 seconds. Now it will be exciting to see what her fiercest competitors can do next.

10:37

Ariane Rädler (AUT)

Ariane Rädler

Ariane Rädler gives away a good ride high up when she gets way too far out and loses a lot of speed and time. Then she takes a risk and comes closer again. In the end, however, she is not rewarded for this effort: Rädler drives past the goal and is eliminated!

10:36

Kira Weidle (GER)

Kira Weidle

Now it’s time for the first DSV starter! What can Kira Weidle get out of it today? Things didn’t quite come together on the descents and she’s now having minor difficulties in some passages in the middle section. Overall, things went much better than in the last few days and for now she can just take the lead.

10:34

Ilka Stuhec (SLO)

Ilka Stuhec

The Slovenian is having an even harder time. Ilka Štuhec often walks long distances, is more rounded and falls behind so quickly. As it passes the goal, it ends shortly before the finish area.

10:33

Laura Pirovano (ITA)

Laura Pirovano

After Ledecká from the Czech Republic canceled her participation in the Super G this morning due to illness, Laura Pirovano from Italy is the first athlete to take to the slopes. Today it is again challenging with some blind transitions. Pirovano gets through the first few meters well and picks up speed well, shows courage in some key places, but overall finds it more difficult to find the rhythm and a few small mistakes creep in. The first benchmark is 1:22.10 minutes.

10:24

Battered Swiss team

Swiss women have been hit hard in the last few days. Tofana’s victims were Joana Hählen and Corinne Suter, who had to end the season after torn cruciate ligaments. Michelle Gisin, who complained of pain in her lower leg after her fall on Friday, also had to sit out. The team is still well positioned in the Super G and can rely primarily on Gut-Behrami. Jasmine Flury (10) wants to work her way further towards top placements. Priska Nufer (21), Stephanie Jenal (23) as well as Jasmina Suter (24) and Delia Durrer (28) are also in the group of the first 30 athletes. Noémie Kolly will start the race with start number 41.

10:18

The German team

The German squad is small in the Super G. Only Kira Weidle (4) and Katrin Hirtl-Stanggassinger (33) will be starting today. However, they are not part of the narrow circle of favorites in the Super-G. Weidle’s best place this winter was a ninth place at the World Cup in Val d’Isere.

10:13

Great ÖSV team

As usual, the Austrian Ski Association can provide a large contingent. This means that in addition to Cornelia Hütter, who is the 14th athlete who has to go on the slope today, Mirjam Puchner (12) also needs to be taken into account. After her victory on Friday, Stephanie Venier (11) wants to hit the slopes again. Ariane Rädler (5), Christina Ager (30), Nadine Fest (22), Lena Wechner (27) as well as Michelle Niederwieser (31), Christine Scheyer (35), Ricarda Haaser (36) and Anna Schilcher (45) will be in the squad complete.

10:09

Four competitions, four winners

There have been four Super Gs so far this winter. The winner was a different athlete in each case, so it will be interesting to see which starter will take victory on the “Olimpia delle Tofane” today. In addition to Hütter, who wears the red jersey, Gut-Behrami (start number 6), Brignone (8) as well as Sofia Goggia (7) and Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (15) also need to be taken into account.

10:01

Great G at the end

The speed weekend for alpine racers enters the final day in Cortina d’Ampezzo with a Super G. ÖSV athlete Cornelia Hütter, who has 310 points, will arrive as the leader of the discipline rankings. Lara Gut-Behrami from Switzerland is second with 220 points ahead of Federica Brignone from Italy, who only managed to collect three points less in the season.

Welcome!
