Alpine skiing live ticker: Chamonix Slalom in the live ticker

09:50

Kristoffer Jakobsen (SWE)

Kristoffer Jakobsen makes the same mistake as McGrath, but unlike the Norwegian, he cannot correct it and is one of those who arrive at the finish more than a second behind.

09:48

Atle Lie McGrath (NOR)

Atle Lie McGrath

He really made a lot of it! Atle Lie McGrath makes a really big mistake in one of the early goals, but he stays in good spirits and is still able to finish with a good time that will give him every chance in the final. McGrath sits in fourth position.

09:48

Dave Ryding (GBR)

Dave Ryding

Dave Ryding, on the other hand, is probably not at all happy with his performance. The Brit shakes his head in disappointment at the finish. Ryding is running quite cleanly, but not aggressive enough and so he falls really far behind, 1.79 seconds behind.

09:46

Ramon Zenhäuser (SUI)

Ramon Zenhäuser

Ramon Zenhäuser is experiencing an epidemic season this year and he is simply missing a really good result. He won here last year, can he pull himself out of the crisis here this season? Zenhäuser drives solidly, but cannot avoid the gap increasing from the middle section onwards. But he can at least stay under a second and maintain his chances in the final.

09:43

Alexander Steen Olsen (NOR)

Alexander Steen Olsen

It’s slowly becoming apparent that the most important thing in the first round is how you complete the second part of the run. At the top, most athletes can keep up with the top time, but then many of them lose a lot of time after making mistakes. This also applies to Alexander Steen Olsen, who is a massive 1.34 seconds behind.

09:43

Marc Rochat (SUI)

Marc Rochat

So far, none of the Swiss have been able to get into a top position. Marc Rochat isn’t really satisfied at the finish either. With a gap of less than a second, something is still possible in the final, but overall there were a few mistakes.

09:41

Tommaso Sala (ITA)

Tommaso Sala

Tommaso Sala will be annoyed! The Italian started really strongly and was able to set a top time in the upper part. After that he loses a bit, but holds on until the big mistake comes in the last section and puts him even further behind, nine tenths behind.

09:39

Timon Haugan (NOR)

Timon Haugan

Things fit together better with the second Norwegian and Timon Haugan puts himself in position to win the day. Haugan uses clean technique, makes clean turns and only has to admit defeat to Noël in the final part. He is in second place, just 0.23 seconds behind and is currently the Frenchman’s biggest challenger.

09:39

Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR)

Henrik Kristoffersen

The Norwegian is struggling a lot with adapting the material this season and is often unable to reach the maximum. Kristoffersen can easily keep up with the leader at the top, but from the second intermediate time onwards he also finds himself a long way behind. Now it’s already clear how strong Clément Noël has been here!

09:36

Daniel Yule (SUI)

Daniel Yule

Daniel Yule is the next Swiss to set off, but from the middle section onwards the gap towards Clément Noël opens up really wide. Can he catch up again down below? No! A big mistake causes a lot of frustration at the finish and a gap of 1.93 seconds!

09:36

Linus Strasser (GER)

Linus Strasser

Now it applies to Linus Straßer! Can the German get back into a top position today? Unfortunately not. Straßer stands very high above his skis, loses a lot of time at the top and when he gets a little lost at the bottom and has a stay in the last hairpin, the deficit really increases! Straßer is already 1.24 seconds behind.

09:34

Loïc Meillard (SUI)

Loic Meillard

Loïc Meillard absolutely needs good results so that he can maintain his starting position in the top group of the top seven. The Swiss starts his run well, but then has small difficulties and loses a lot towards the current leader, especially at the bottom. Seven tenths behind would certainly not make him happy.

09:33

Clément Noël (FRA)

Clement Noël

Clément Noël is on this slope, so it will be a guideline for how much Feller’s time is worth. The Frenchman loses to Feller at the top, but Noël is much better at the bottom and can cut a good figure, especially on the flat. With a lead of 40 hundredths, Noël moves into first position.

09:31

Manuel Feller (AUT)

Manuel Feller

It’s prepared for the slalom in Chamonix. It starts in the first round with Manuel Feller, who wears the red jersey as the leader of the Slalom World Cup and will definitely keep it after France, because the gap to Straßler is big enough. The piste conditions are completely different than most recently in Austria with rather soft snow and a flat slope, which could make it easy for many people to get in at the front. What does Feller have in store for his competitors? Feller stays on track well, keeps the pressure high and reaches the bottom in 47.49 seconds.

09:24

Who else should you pay attention to?

Of course, it is always important to pay attention to the Norwegian athletes. Atle Lie McGrath, Henrik Kristoffersen and Timon Haugan have recently shown good results. The Swede Kristoffer Jakobsen should always be taken into account. In addition, Clément Noël should always be taken into account.

09:17

Is there a Swiss on the podium again?

The team from Switzerland only achieved one podium finish this winter thanks to Daniel Yule (5). Accordingly, you should be eager to add more. Loïc Meillard (3), Marc Rochat (9) and Ramon Zenhäuser (11) are also expected to achieve good results. Tanguy Nef (34), Sandro Simonet (42) and Reto Schmidiger (49) were also nominated.

09:13

Feller leads the ÖSV team

Manuel Feller, who has to open the race today, has established himself as one of the top favorites this season and three out of six slaloms went to the Austrian, meaning he is currently leading the World Cup slalom rankings. With another win, he could become the first athlete since Marcel Hirscher in the 2018/19 season to win four World Cup slaloms in a single season. Even apart from Feller, the ÖSV team is always capable of something and in particular Fabio Gstrein (15), Michael Matt (19) as well as Dominik Raschner (22), Adrian Pertl (23) and Johannes Strolz (28) are likely to have something planned. Joshua Sturm (47) and Simon Rueland (53) complete the ÖSV team in Chamonix.

09:08

Will Straßer strike again?

After his slalom victories in Kitzbühel and Schladming, Linus Straßer goes into the competition in France as one of the big favorites to win. The German was relaxed in the last two races and if he maintains this self-confidence, he will certainly be able to make a big splash in France too. Straßer goes into the Stangenwald in fourth place today and therefore has a very good starting number for the first round. In addition to Straßer, Sebastian Holzmann (21), Anton Tremmel (41), Linus Witte (54) and Fabian Himmelsbach (64) are also in France for the DSV.

09:01

Sparse alpine weekend

The speed specialists were actually supposed to take to the slopes in Chamonix, but the races were canceled due to unfavorable weather forecasts. However, the technicians can get back into the action in Chamonix and are holding their seventh slalom of the winter on La Verte des Houches. The first round is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., the final is scheduled to take place from 12:30 p.m.
