Alpine skiing live: Parallel World Championships (women) in the live ticker | 15.02.2023 12:00

13:09

Marie Lamure (FRA) vs Wendy Holdener (SUI)

It’s getting loud in the stadium! Local hero Marie Lamure is at the start and has to deal with Wendy Holdener. The French lost the race by almost two tenths, but on the red course. She’s still within striking distance.

13:08

Maria Therese Tviberg (NOR) vs. Thea Louise Stjernesund (NOR)

Stjernesund actually had everything under control here after a good start! The Norwegian slipped away on the outer ski shortly before the end and lost valuable time to her compatriot.

12:59 p.m

Sara Hector (SWE) vs Wendy Holdener (SUI)

This race was as good as decided after the first run. Wendy Holdener doesn’t miss a beat here and gets into the semi-finals.

12:57 p.m

Franziska Gritsch (AUT) vs Marie Lamure (FRA)

Cheers from the home fans who have found their favorite for today. Marie Lamure confirms her previous performances and is in the semifinals. For Franziska Gritsch there was nothing to get.

12:57 p.m

Maria Therese Tviberg (NOR) vs. Lena Dürr (GER)

Her opponent will be teammate Tviberg. The Norwegian is in front right from the start and Lena Dürr is no longer able to close despite a big fight.

12:56

Maryna Gasienica Daniel (POL) vs Thea Louise Stjernesund (NOR)

The Norwegian had already won the first run and was also in the lead in the second run. So far Stjernesund has shown really strong performances and is well deserved in the semi-finals.

12:49 p.m

Sara Hector (SWE) vs Wendy Holdener (SUI)

Strongly by Wendy Holdener! The Swiss skis flawlessly here and is technically strong. She takes almost four tenths into the re-run.

12:48 p.m

Franziska Gritsch (AUT) vs Marie Lamure (FRA)

Marie Lamure wows the audience! The Frenchwoman is in top form and also outshines Franziska Gritsch. It will be very difficult for the Austrian in the re-run.

12:47 p.m

Maria Therese Tviberg (NOR) vs. Lena Dürr (GER)

Good performance from both! The run goes to the Norwegian, but Lena Dürr is very close and is only five hundredths behind. Since she was on the somewhat slower, red course, this is certainly not a bad starting position for the German.

12:44

Maryna Gasienica Daniel (POL) vs Thea Louise Stjernesund (NOR)

After the men have also finished their round of 16, it is now the turn of the women again. Maryna Gasienica and Thea Louise Stjernesund will kick things off. The Norwegian has the better end here, taking a little more than a tenth lead into the re-run.

12:31

Estelle Alphand (SWE) vs Sara Hector (SWE)

Unsurprisingly, the duel between the two teammates goes to Sara Hector, who also wins the second round more than clearly and, with a total of nine tenths, has the largest lead so far.

12:30 p.m

Coralie Frasse Sombet (FRA) vs. Wendy Holdener (SUI)

The favorite is of course slalom specialist Wendy Holdener, who also underpins this position. This means that the next French woman, Frasse Sombet, has to watch in the quarter-finals.

12:29

Franziska Gritsch (AUT) vs. Kristin Lysdahl (NOR)

That was tighter than necessary from the point of view of Franziska Gritsch, who lost almost three tenths. However, the lead from the first round is enough and so Franzisa Gritsch is in the quarter-finals.

12:28

Marie Lamure (FRA) vs. Marta Bassino (ITA)

Very strong run by Marie Lamure! The French also put in a really strong performance on the red course and knocked Bassino out of the competition.

12:26

Maria Therese Tviberg (NOR) vs. Clara Direz (FRA)

The gap at the start was almost half a second and Clara Direz immediately tried everything to change that. However, it then becomes too wild and the Frenchwoman is eliminated early.

12:25

Nina O’Brien (USA) vs. Lena Dürr (GER)

Lena Dürr turns the race! In the first round she was still slightly behind on the red course, but now she can turn the whole thing in her favor. With five hundredths, the German puts the American in her place.

12:23

Maryna Gasienica Daniel (POL) vs. Andrea Ellenberger (SUI)

The leader prevailed in the second race as well. Andrea Ellenberger is able to reduce the deficit from the first run, but the Pole is too constant and will advance to the next round.

12:23

Thea Louise Stjernesund (NOR) vs. Camille Rast (SUI)

The Norwegian drives away with a slight starting lead and leaves no doubt as to who should progress here. Stjernesund extends their lead and is in the quarterfinals.

12:10 p.m

Estelle Alphand (SWE) vs Sara Hector (SWE)

Estelle Alphand now loses his balance on exactly this blue foot and misses the goal. This will result in a 0.5 second penalty time.

12:09 p.m

Coralie Frasse Sombet (FRA) vs. Wendy Holdener (SUI)

It seems as if the blue course is a little faster, because out of seven duels so far, six have gone to this course. However, the gaps are still within a fair range and so Wendy Holdener also has every chance in the re-run with a tenth behind.

12:08 p.m

Franziska Gritsch (AUT) vs. Kristin Lysdahl (NOR)

Problems with Lysdahl, who has two big mistakes in her run and so of course has no chance. Franziska Gritsch constantly slows down her run and takes a lot of lead into the re-run.

12:07 p.m

Marie Lamure (FRA) vs. Marta Bassino (ITA)

Marie Lamure, however, causes cheering! The young Frenchwoman is surprisingly dominating the race against Marta Bassino. She will go into the re-run with a half-second lead.

12:05

Maria Therese Tviberg (NOR) vs. Clara Direz (FRA)

The home fans sigh as Clara Direz makes a clearly recognizable mistake in the upper section that costs her valuable time.

12:04

Nina O’Brien (USA) vs. Lena Dürr (GER)

Lena Dürr is actually the favorite in this duel, but she cannot do justice to this role for the time being. The German loses narrowly against Nina O’Brien, but is absolutely within striking distance for the re-run with a tenth behind.

12:03

Maryna Gasienica Daniel (POL) vs. Andrea Ellenberger (SUI)

The second Swiss also loses her first run. Andrea Ellenberger starts a little too hesitantly, for which there is no time in this short race.

12:01

Thea Louise Stjernesund (NOR) vs. Camille Rast (SUI)

Camille Rast has problems right from the start. The Swiss then finds her way and at least stays behind. Nevertheless, the first run goes narrowly to the Norwegian.

11:49

Gritsch slowed down

In yesterday’s team competition, Franziska Gritsch experienced an unusual situation when her opponent in the semifinals slipped into her lane after a fall. Gritsch had to brake and swerve, but won that crazy run. In the end, however, it wasn’t enough, because in the semifinals it was over for Austria. Today Gritsch is the only participant from the Alpine Republic.

11:38

Dürr for black-red-gold

Lena Dürr showed a good performance when DSV was eliminated yesterday, but it was only enough for the quarter-finals. In the individual today, of course, the only German in the field would like to go a little further.

11:21

Strong performance by the Swiss

Three out of four Swiss women were able to qualify for today’s final in yesterday’s individual qualification. Camille Rast, Andrea Ellenberger and Wendy Holdener are at the start for the Confederates today. Ellenberger and Holdener were already in action in the team competition yesterday, but narrowly lost out to Canada.

11:19

One last hooray of dispute discipline

Before the parallel competition is canceled by the FIS after this World Championship, there is one last hurrah. Everyone involved hopes that this will be fairer than the last edition in Cortina. At that time, one course was significantly faster than the other, which made fair competition impossible. At yesterday’s team event, it seemed as if things would be a little better this year, but the courses will never really be identical.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the women’s World Championship decision in the parallel race! The live ticker starts in good time before the start of the competition.
