13:19

Welcome back!

In around ten minutes, the second round of the men’s slalom continues in Adelboden, Switzerland. At 1:30 p.m. Marc Rochat opens the promising second run!

11:52

A memorable 1st round is over!

The first round of the slalom in Adelboden is over and it was memorable! There are 24 drivers within a second, which promises unprecedented excitement for the second run. At the head of the field are Fabio Gstrein and Manuel Feller from Austria, third place currently goes to Luca Aerni.

11:45

David Ketterer (GER) & Noel von Grünigen (SUI)

Joy for David Ketterer, who with 26th place can very probably get into the second run. Things are going a little worse for Noel von Grünigen, who has to be content with 39th place.

11:40

Dominik Raschner (AUT)

Dominik Raschner now robs the German of hope for the second round, who takes 28th place and now takes on the hoping role.

11:40

Julian Rauchfuss (GER) & Fabian Himmelsbach (GER)

While Julian Rauchfuss ends early in the middle part, Fabian Himmelsbach can at least hope for the second round. The German is in 30th place and now has to wait and see if that’s enough for the second round.

11:28

Marc Rochat (SUI) & Anton Tremmel (GER)

Things are going worse for Marc Rochat and especially Anton Tremmel. While the Swiss can tremble at least about the second run, Tremmel tries too hard and is eliminated early.

11:27

Johannes Strolz (AUT)

The next Austrian surprises here! What a ride by Johannes Strolz, who is only 0.17 seconds behind the top!

11:24

Reto Schmidiger (SUI) & Marc Digruber (AUT)

What a performance by Marc Digruber! The Austrian is even ahead for a long time, in the end it is enough for the ÖSV starter to finish in seventh place! Shortly beforehand, Reto Schmidiger was eliminated shortly after the start.

11:21

Lucas Braathen (NOR)

And the next runner delivers right away. Braathen, who swung down yesterday with knee problems in the giant slalom, finished tenth with a great run!

11:17

The best are down!

The first 30 runners are now at the finish. Experience shows that there won’t be much going on at the top. Of course, we will get back to you immediately if there are any interesting developments.

11:16

Simon Maurberger (ITA)

Not a good line for Simon Maurberger, who cannot build on his good giant slalom and is on the 20th.

11:16

Sandro Simonet (SUI)

The next Swiss delivers! Simonet takes over place number eleven here. Together with the German Linus Straßer, he is 62 hundredths behind.

11:15

Erik Read (CAN)

Things are not going so well for Erik Read, who is 1.6 seconds behind.

11:14

Stefano Gross (ITA)

The same applies to Stefano Gross, who lines up exactly in front of Vidovic and still has every chance in the second section.

11:13

Matej Vidovic (CRO)

The good thing from the Croatian point of view: He crosses the finish line here just under a second behind. The bad: It is only enough for 16th place. That sums up this first round well.

11:10

Armand Marchant (BEL)

Marchant is doing well in the upper section, the middle section is currently not optimal for the Belgian, who only comes in at 17th place.

11:09

Christian Hirschbühl (AUT)

A bit too boisterous start for Hirschbühl, who has probably set himself a little too much and is leaving early.

11:08

Giuliano Razzoli (ITA)

It’s crazy how close today’s race is. With a great drive, Razzoli set a time that is only four tenths behind the top. However, that is “only” enough for seventh place.

11:05

Timon Haugan (NOR)

However, that does not apply to Timon Haugan. The Norwegian didn’t find a good rhythm right from the start and placed himself on the penultimate place.

11:04

Alexandr Khoroshilov (RUS)

The Russian is also quite far behind in the field, but is also still in the race, well under a second behind.

11:02

Tanguy Nef (SUI)

Nef is a little too close to the goals, but does not choose the optimal line. His eleventh place is a bit misleading, however, as the Swiss is only six tenths behind.

11:00

Manfred Mölgg (ITA)

Exactly the same fate now overtakes Manfred Mölgg, who also leads the way before the first interim period.

10:59

Stefan Hadalin (SLO)

After the two top runs we are now seeing another retirement. Hadalin also wants to attack, but threads early and now has to watch.

10:58

Fabio Gstrein (AUT)

The next really good run! Gstrein also attacks and ends up at the finish at the same time as Feller. He even had a small mistake on the steep section, but it didn’t detract from the Austrian one-two.

10:56

Luca Aerni (SUI)

Very strong run by Luca Aerni! The Swiss drive courageously and attack. One or the other time he has to correct himself slightly, but in the end the courage is rewarded. Second place for the Confederate!

10:53

Michael Matt (AUT)

Especially in the upper section, Matt doesn’t have a good line and falls far behind. In the end, the Austrian is missing more than two seconds.

10:52

Linus Straßer (GER)

“Striking distance” is also the keyword for Linus Straßer, who on the one hand should have the second round safely and on the other hand is absolutely in the race for the top places with 0.6 seconds behind.

10:51

Filip Zubcic (CRO)

Zubcic doesn’t seem satisfied either. On the slope, which is slowly deteriorating, the Croatian does his job well and stays in ninth place within striking distance.

10:48

Loïc Meillard (SUI)

Technically, the whole thing looks good at Meillard, who is, however, putting a little too much pressure on the edges and thus losing time. A more direct line would have been good.

10:47

Kristoffer Jakobsen (SWE)

Jakobsen drives a very brave line and is doing really well in the race. After a small mistake, he threatens to retire, but saves again. With three goals to go, he threads one more time and is eliminated this time.

10:46

Alex Vinatzer (ITA)

Now we see the first run, which drops off significantly. The Italian does not find the optimal rhythm and in the end is more than 1.2 seconds behind. The Italian also seems correspondingly dissatisfied.

10:44

David Ryding (GBR)

Ryding starts really strong here, but can’t quite make it to the finish. The Briton is a bit unclean in the final part and falls back to seventh place.

10:42

Daniel Yule (SUI)

Daniel Yule is now directly behind Schwarz. Although the Swiss is at the end of the field, the gaps are actually very close at half a second.

10:41

Marco Schwarz (AUT)

Black actually starts very well and is now clearly leading. The final part of the Austrian is then not optimal and so Black falls back on the five.

10:39

Ramon Zenhäusern (SUI)

Zenhaeuser is the first local hero to throw himself down the slope here and does his job quite well. The Swiss is only fourth, but the gaps are extremely close.

10:37

Manuel Feller (AUT)

In yesterday’s giant slalom, Feller really delivered and apparently got used to the slopes very well. The Austrian takes the lead here!

10:36

Henrik Kristoffersen (NOR)

Especially in the middle part, the Norwegian does his job very well. In the lower section, however, Kristoffersen loses some time and does not seem entirely satisfied. And that, although it was enough for a tight leadership.

10:34

Clément Noël (FRA)

The “curse” of Adelboden continues for the time being. Even before the first interim period, Noel gets involved and is eliminated.

10:33

Alexis Pinturault (FRA)

Pinturalut brings its run down very solidly and so naturally takes the lead. The next runners will show what the time will be worth.

10:32

Sebastian Foss Solevåg (NOR)

There were already some failures here in yesterday’s giant slalom and the slalom also begins with one. The Norwegian already sees the target, but then makes a careless mistake and falls easily.

10:07

Top ten as a goal!

Switzerland, on the other hand, has at least two drivers who are in and around the top ten. Daniel Yule is currently in ninth place in the World Cup, Loic Meillard in 13th place. Both of them are certainly willing to get a place in the ranks of the top drivers today.

10:02

Similar situation with the ÖSV!

Even in the Austrian camp there is still a bit of sadness when thinking about the slalom. The best ÖSV starter is Fabio Gstrein and is only 22nd in the discipline world cup. Today there are eight starters for the ÖSV again and want to improve the point yield.

09:49

Street with problems!

The greatest hope of the DSV in this discipline is of course Linus Straßer, who has not yet been able to deliver this winter. In both races, the German retired in the first round. Julian Rauchfuss is so far the only DSV starter who can come up with World Cup points.

09:46

Demolition in Zagreb!

The third slalom of the season was supposed to take place in Zagreb and in part did so. However, the race was canceled due to the weather conditions and is no longer valued. The only third slalom will take place today in Adelboden.

09:33

Warm welcome!

Good morning and hello to the men’s slalom! In Switzerland, or rather in Adelboden, the supreme technical discipline is all about World Cup points. The first round starts at 10:30 a.m.
