Ivan Nekic (l.) in a duel with Jorrit Hendrix (r.)

As of: April 5, 2026 • 3:40 p.m

Preußen Münster won a point at Holstein Kiel with a good defensive performance on the debut of new coach Alois Schwarz. The 0-0 score doesn’t really help either team. Münster remains bottom of the table, the Störche were able to improve by one place and are now third from bottom.

There was no dangerous finish in the first quarter of an hour in the basement duel in Kiel. But there was an early setback for the Prussians. Oliver Batista-Meier, the team’s top scorer alongside Etienne Amenyido with six goals, had to go down after 15 minutes with a shoulder injury. Lars Lokotsch came for him.

In the 18th minute there was something like a goal threat for the first time. A cross from Ivan Nekic landed dangerously in front of the Münster goal, but Prussia keeper Johannes Schenk was able to defuse the situation. In the 29th minute, Münster also had their first chance. First Amenyido tried an overhead kick, but didn’t hit the ball properly. The ball then landed at Lokotsch in the six-yard box, but he couldn’t get his head there well enough and put the ball over the goal.

Two half chances in the first half

With these two half chances, the break went goalless. Neither team managed a shot on goal. Kiel were the slightly more offensive team, but Münster held up with good defensive work.

Holstein also showed greater commitment at the beginning of the second half, the Störch obviously didn’t want to be satisfied with the draw. Kiel had significantly more possession of the ball, but initially there were no high-profile chances against the guests’ compact defense.

In the 58th minute, Kasper Davidsen had the best chance of the game so far. The Kiel player took a shot from a good position in the sixteen-yard box, but Prussia’s Jannis Heuer blocked the ball with his foot.

Chances, but no shot goes on goal

In the 64th minute, Münster almost took the lead on a counterattack. Amenyido played the ball from the left to the far post, but Joshua Mees couldn’t reach the ball, which went just wide of the goal.

In the 74th minute, Prussia had two more good chances. First a shot from Amenyido was blocked. After the subsequent corner, Heuer narrowly missed the hosts’ goal. In the 90th minute, the guests once again missed a great chance to counterattack – so that the score remained 0-0, which was, overall, a fair result. And at the end of the basement duel, the spectators saw a game in which not a single shot was on goal.
