“Almost an entire neighborhood that spits on our society”

In his book “Focus on Germany – poverty, violence, neglect, Neukölln is just the beginning”, Neukölln’s social councilor Falko Liecke (49, CDU) describes life and the problems of the crime hotspot.

The new book will be out on Friday. BZ already has the most important sentences from it:

►”Germany’s future will be decided in Neukölln: either we can do it or not.”

►“Your cage is created from a lack of education, pseudo-religious archaic rites and customs as well as instilled and sometimes brutally enforced oppression. Where they come from, that’s normal. And the frightening thing: Here in Neukölln, in the middle of Germany, it is the same.”
