Almost 16,000 queens of Asian hornet caught this spring, four times more than last year

Thanks to a civilian science project, nearly 16,000 queens of the Asian hornet were imprisoned in Flanders this spring. That is four times more than in 2024, during the first phase of the three -year project. The Institute for Nature and Forest Research (Inbo) and the Agency for Nature and Forest (ANB) announced this on Tuesday.
