Radio and TV presenter Alma Hätönen starts her own podcast, which deals with supernatural phenomena.
Hätönen collects stories from ordinary people about special experiences that cannot be explained by reason. He wants his guests to be able to tell his story without being questioned or condemned.
– I have always been interested in phenomena that cannot be verified by scientific means. Their meaning can be very personal to people. I have personally experienced all kinds of phenomena during my life and I have heard similar stories from my friends, Hätönen tells Iltalehti.
– It is time to listen to people’s experiences and accept that there are many things that cannot be proven, but they still happen.
Hätönen says that he himself has experienced, for example, a dream and encounters with residual energy. He believes he avoided an accident due to foresight. Hätönen emphasizes that stories posted for a podcast do not have to be exactly like the experiences mentioned above.
Positive reception
So far, the reception for the podcast theme has been purely positive.
– People are really excited. That, too, indicates that such things are happening. Many expect to hear different stories. However, this is an entertaining podcast, Hätönen points out.
He can’t check if the stories people are telling really happened.
– It is enough for me that a person thinks that something has happened to him. I want to be open minded.

Hätönen has asked people on his Instagram account to email him his experiences. The most suitable stories will be selected for the podcast and Hätönen plans to meet their narrators in different parts of Finland. Hätönen may also visit places where special experiences have taken place.
– These are really sensitive issues. Many who have put in an email have not shared their experiences with anyone yet. They have also thanked me for allowing me to write without question, Hätönen says.
Life in Spain
Hätönen is currently in Spain with his cohabitant, actor Jaakko Ohtonen and their dog Shant. The couple has rented an apartment where they are on holiday and working remotely until mid-May, after which they will return to Finland.
Hätönen’s mother lives in Spain, so she has also taken the opportunity to spend time with her mother. Mom also has a dog that Shanti has gotten a friend from.
– We have had a good time, but the weather has been quite poor, even stormy, Hätönen laughs at his bad luck.
Before preparing his podcast, Hätönen has spent a quiet life on the work front. Last year was hectic, as he hosted Hitmix radio and Big Brother and Paradise Hotel, among others.
