From Bulten demolition waste to new garden sheds. The Gardeners Association in Coevorden worked in the past year on a makeover of the allotment garden complex in Tuindorp. After the large cleaning, the association now also builds their self -designed garden sheds.
The allotment garden complex in Tuindorp was tapped by the municipality at the beginning of last year because tenants would not comply with the rules. “There were structures here that no longer met the requirements and barbecues and parties were held,” says Jan Willem Jansma, secretary of the General Gardeners Association Coevorden. There were countless houses, roofs and high fences that gardeners had put down on the field. “There was not a long time maintained and that is why we have set up a large refurbishment action together with the municipality.”
In the past year, volunteers from the association worked on the makeover of the garden. “We have taken some 150,000 kilos of waste in total,” says Jansma with big eyes. “It was really a lot.” Old structures, stones, green – it all went out. The garden has since been cleaned up and the old houses have been removed.
