The volleyball players from Allianz MTV Stuttgart are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Coach Konstantin Bitter’s team won the third duel within a week at SC Potsdam 3-0 (25:19, 26:24, 25:22). The first leg had already gone to Stuttgart 3-0.
In the round of the best eight, the Bundesliga team will face Turkish league leaders Fenerbahce Istanbul. The 2012 Champions League winners are seeded there as group winners in the main round.
Stuttgart suffered a bitter 3-0 defeat against Potsdam in the league on Saturday and lost first place in the table to SSC Palmberg Schwerin. The next meeting with Potsdam in the championship will take place on February 17th.
The really big hit, however, is on March 3rd, when the long-term opponents fight for the DVV Cup in the final.
