It was also emphasized that when the Egyptian players took the field to warm up before the fight, bottles and stones were thrown from the stands, and these events were recorded with videos and photographs.


Egypt also stated that it applied to FIFA and the African Football Confederation (CAF) against Senegal due to the attacks in question.


In the rematch of the match, which Egypt won 1-0 at home, Senegal gained the upper hand with the same score at the end of 90 minutes, and the home team won the match without a goal in the overtime, winning 3-1 at the end of the penalties and earned the right to participate in the 2022 World Cup. In the last part of the match, while the eyes of the Egyptian players who took the penalty, were lasered from the stands, Salah and Galatasaray Mustafa Muhammed were among the players who could not conclude the penalty with a goal.
