A brilliant idea from Lena
The chairs do have some traces of wear after 20 years. The handrails have collected some dust all this time and there are some stains here and there. Volunteer Lena discovered a golden tip while freshening up her own chair: “I used Dasty degreaser from Wibra and my chair immediately looked like new again!” The Kursaal Oostende team was so enthusiastic about this result that a collaboration was entered into with Wibra. Thanks to Wibra, every buyer receives a portion of Dasty to easily clean the chair at home. Wibra is also proud to be part of this special project. “We are happy that with Dasty we can play a role in extending the lifespan of these iconic chairs and at the same time help preserve a piece of history,” says Lindsay van der Aa, Wibra Belgium.
A look at the future
The renovations to the concert hall are in full swing and will continue until September 2026. When it reopens, the space will transform into a modern, modular hall, suitable for both standing and seated concerts. In the meantime, a stylish pop-up concert hall has been created in the heart of Kursaal Oostende: the Casino Foyer, with a capacity of 800 seated or 1,500 standing visitors.
