Alisha Lehmann receives ridicule after award
May 8, 2026 – 6:00 p.mReading time: 1 min.
Leicester City’s Alisha Lehmann wins two seasonal awards. But the reaction from the football world is only partially positive.
The Swiss national player Alisha Lehmann was voted player of the season by the fans. As her club Leicester City announced to X, the 27-year-old also received the award for goal of the season. The occasion was her goal against her former club Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium at the beginning of the year. But apparently not everyone likes the decision.
A small debate broke out on social networks. There were some positive reactions such as: “Well done Alisha” and “Congratulations”. At the same time, other users questioned the result under the post. “Was that in your contract?” one user wanted to know. Another wrote in disbelief: “Sorry but are we sure the fans voted for this?”

The background is Lehmann’s operating times this season. The offensive player has only made nine appearances for Leicester so far and has played a total of 445 minutes. She scored a goal. For Lehmann, the award still represents a sporting ray of hope after difficult months. She returned to England in January after her time in Italy with Juventus Turin and later with Como did not go as hoped.
Now Lehmann would like to permanently recommend himself to the national team again. After not having a lot of time recently, she is working towards her big goal: taking part in the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
