Alfred Peterson (67) has been nominated by his D66 Meppel group as a new alderman in the municipality. He must follow Jeannet Bos, who stopped as an alderman on 1 February.
Peterson, who lives in Zwolle, already worked for the municipality of Meppel between 1992 and 1998. Until recently he worked for the province of Overijssel, where he was involved in, among other things, economics, culture/social and energy.
After he stopped at the province of Overijssel, he indicated that he was ready for a new challenge and the role as an alderman in Meppel was in good shape. “I have enjoyed working in Meppel in the past and I also have a personal bond with it. It feels like a privilege to be able to contribute to the further implementation of the coalition agreement,” says Peterson.
