After freaking out in Acapulco at the end of February, Alexander Zverev is on the way to rehabilitation – and wants to make headlines again in sport. In Miami he had to accept another defeat.

Alexander Zverev failed in the quarterfinals of the ATP Masters in Miami. The 24-year-old German number one lost to the Norwegian Casper Ruud 3: 6, 6: 1, 3: 6 and thus missed a great opportunity. In the semifinals, the world ranking would have been 103. Francisco Cerundolo from Argentina serviced. But Zverev did not reach his best form against Ruud.

The fourth in the world rankings missed the chance to get back into the race for number one in the world with a triumph in Miami before the start of the clay court season. So far this year, Zverev has only reached the final of a tournament in Montpellier in February. Most recently, the top German player failed in his first match at the prestigious Masters in Indian Wells.
