Another HSV attacker was injured before the northern derby against Werder Bremen. Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit will be out until the end of the year with a torn muscle fiber, coach Merlin Polzin announced on Friday. Either way, the 18-year-old would have been missing against Werder due to a suspension. Robert Glatzel and Warmed Omari are also missing HSV definitely.
However, Polzin had good news from two other HSV professionals: Daniel Elfadli and Yussuf Poulsen could possibly return to the squad on Sunday. Both could have increased their workload throughout the training week.
Sascha Stegemann will referee the northern derby between HSV and Werder Bremen on Sunday (3:30 p.m./Dazn). The DFB announced this on its website. Mathias Jöllenbeck is used as a video assistant.
Stegemann has already officiated a game involving HSV this season: the 40-year-old refereed the 0-0 draw in Mönchengladbach on matchday 1. In total, Sascha Stegemann has already served as a referee in 19 competitive HSV games.
The derby record under the management graduate from Niederkassel could be a good omen for the “Rothosen”: In the 2021/22 season, HSV under Stegemann won both at Werder Bremen (2-0) and at home against them FC St Pauli (2:1).
