With thousands of fans behind them, Alemannia Aachen traveled to MSV Duisburg – but on the pitch they suffered a clear defeat. MSV takes over the top of the table.

Great backdrop, strong support, but a sobering result: Alemannia Aachen lost 3-1 at MSV Duisburg and remains in the bottom of the table in the 3rd league. More than 5,000 fans who traveled with us saw the game decided in the first half.

Conor Noß scored early to give MSV the lead (7th), Steffen Meuer increased the lead to 2-0 (33rd), and Can Coskun made it 3-0 before the break (41st). In the 80th minute, Faton Ademi only managed a consolation goal for Aachen.

From Aachen’s perspective, the game caused a stir in advance: over 5,000 fans accompanied the team to Duisburg – a season record. The 4,800 tickets for the away block sold out quickly, with many more supporters securing tickets in adjacent home areas.

With the win, MSV Duisburg takes the lead in the table – level on points with Energie Cottbus, which also won against Viktoria Köln. After their ninth defeat of the season, Aachen remains in 16th place – just two points above the relegation zone.
