Alemannia Aachen has drawn the purchase option for loan player Mika Schroers. The third division club confirmed Arminia Bielefeld’s permanent commitment after the end of the season on Easter Sunday; according to reports, the amount due is in the low six-figure range. The center forward has a contract until 2029, but it is still unclear whether the future actually lies with Tivoli.
With 14 goals and ten assists in 30 games, Schroers’ loan proved to be a complete success for Aachen. “Mika has fully fulfilled the expectations that we associated with his loan. With his goals and assists, he has made a significant contribution to the team’s stabilization over the course of the season and is currently secure in the middle of the table. It was therefore clear to us early on that we would like to exercise the purchase option,” said managing director Rachid Azzouzi.
Together with Lars Gindorf, Schroers forms the most dangerous duo in the 3rd league. While Gindorf will return to his regular club Hannover 96 next season, the 24-year-old’s future in Aachen is also not secured. Due to the strong season, several second and first division teams have become aware of the attacker; in the rumor mill, FC St. Pauli, VfL Bochum or FC Zurich and FC St. Gallen 1879 from Switzerland are mentioned.
